The Inspiration
We drew the narrative for ki’lei from the unique landscape of Central California, where dry desert air collides with the cool breezes of the Pacific. We wanted to bottle the electrical tension of that meeting—the exact moment the sky begins to turn and a storm is born.
Our Vision
We composed this fragrance in five distinct accords to mirror the lifecycle of a passing storm. It opens with the deceptive clarity of bright, sunny skies before moving into the heart of the shift: the palpable drop in atmospheric pressure, the scent of lightning, of distant thunder, and the rolling fog. The fragrance settles into a petrichor, “after the storm” freshness—a scent that feels vibrantly alive on the skin despite its rich, earthy undertones and moody complexities.
Origin of name: Derived from the Yawelmani dialect of Central California meaning, “cloud”.
“ki’lei is a work of art!”
